OUR NAME
Akula is pronounced uh • KOOL • uh. It means “shark” in Russian. Why pick such a random word? Hmm…it’s a family thing. And, sharks are awesome. Feel free to ask about it in person!
OUR OWNERS
Meet Andrew and Nikki. While they have a somewhat difficult time being serious in casual settings, they are All Business when it comes to work. Andrew, a Financial Analyst, is a native Ohioan with a degree in Accounting. He dreams in numbers, charts, and lettered cells and loses sleep over impossible deadlines. Nikki, the Founder and Creative Director of Akula Kreative, was born and bred in California. Her background is in marketing and the arts, having studied and worked in New York, Los Angeles, Italy, and San Diego. She dreams in colors, code, and patterns and loses sleep over finding the perfect font.
When they’re not working (read: On Saturday and Sunday mornings), you’ll find them hanging out with their pets, spending time outdoors, eating, cooking, or doing all of the above at once. Their goal in life—ok, maybe just Nikki’s goal in life—is to own and operate a small farm for abandoned animals.
