a red-mailbox-inspired color palette

Here’s a color combination to get you in the mood for the holidays! A splash of neon orange adds a unexpected, modern pop of color to a palette of Christmas Red, silver, gray, and slate.
A tip for updating a traditional Christmas color palette :: keep ONE traditional color (red or green), add ONE unexpected accent color, then use white, silver, gray, or an earth tone (tan, brown, taupe) as a neutral.
I sincerely hope kids are still using snail mail to write letters to Santa. The day they all send emails will be a sad one.
Happy Friday! Best of luck battling the mall front this weekend. (Or, if you don’t feel like venturing out, check out the Pretty Peas Paperie Etsy Shop for fun holiday paper and gifts!)
an heirloom-tomato-inspired color palette

Today’s color inspiration comes from the summer fruit that has been all the rage these days…the juicy, flavorful, and BRIGHT heirloom tomato! For the neutral, I chose a light gray with green hues…pair it with the green, yellow, orange, or red, and you have yourself a wonderful, refreshing pair.
Also on the brain is Project Get Healthy brought to you by Healthiest Regards. Over the course of a month, we have been challenged to make better choices for a healthier, more FIT lifestyle. This week, I had the most delicious summer salad for lunch. Try making it at home!

- Watermelon (sliced)
- Heirloom Tomatoes (sliced)
- Basil (cut into thin strips)
- Avocado (diced or sliced)
- Drizzle with Balsamic Reduction or Moscato Vinaigrette
Happy Friday!

Butterfield Racing | web design
What better way to celebrate the official launch of Butterfield Racing than with Nikki Butterfield’s win in the United Arab Emirates on March 3rd!? That’s right…Supermom Nikki took first place in the Abu Dhabi Triathlon just hours after she was emailing us final edits.
Congratulations to our amazingly talented and determined clients! (Yes, that is athletes, plural. Tyler Butterfield ALSO won his first race in 2012 on January 13th.)
Butterfield Racing is composed of a husband-and-wife team: Tyler and Nikki. Both stellar professional triathletes represented by Wattie Ink., they needed a new website to share their training updates, schedules, photos, and press releases with current and potential sponsors, friends, and fans. As a busy couple juggling training, racing, and raising a baby, the couple wanted to parallel the Wattie Ink. WordPress site so that press releases and news updates could be easily—and readily—updated by their writer Holly, assistant Aspen, and agent Sean. The solution? Use the platform of Wattie Ink., but customize it to Butterfield specifications.
Butterfield Racing provides a massive amount of information: biographies, schedules, race results, photos, press releases, detailed sponsor information, contact information, and more. It’s a dynamic website that keeps the Butterfield following informed and up-to-date. Above is a screen shot of one of many features: a lightbox pop-up window of a YouTube video. Check out their gallery by clicking HERE – simply click on a thumbnail to view photo slideshows and watch video!
One of Nikki’s priorities throughout the process was to give proper credit to their sponsors. In addition to creating pages for them, we built a custom html footer complete with sponsor logos that change color on rollover and link directly to external websites.

Meet Nani, our pit bull mix. Once a quivering bundle of fear at the Humane Society, Nani has become an integral part of our family. She enjoys napping in the sun, chewing on tape and superglue without permission, and dismembering and de-fluffing new toys. The background of this card features a dog-bone pattern in the lightest of light grays.
* This special edition card comes with a coin envelope filled with hand-punched heart-shaped confetti and one blank, unattached pink banner. Think of it as a very simple DIY kit. You write your own message and attach it to the card wherever you like, then you fill the red envelope with confetti. Ta-da!
