a winter-floral-inspired color palette + 2016 goals

Happy New Year! Have you set any goals for 2016 yet? While you think about that, I'll share this week's winter color inspiration: pastel greens with hints of gray mixed with dusty rose. Perfect for a January wedding, right?

SAGE #80887D / GREEN OR GRAY? #BAC0BC / LIGHT MINT #E1E4DD

LIGHT ROSE #EDDBD9 / DUSTY ROSE #E2C7C0 / ROSY BROWN #B78B7E

WHAT ARE THESE COLOR CODES? The “hex codes” above are provided as a courtesy for those customizing website colors or looking for general color inspiration. They are not based on paint or Pantone chips. Remember that ink on paper will never look the same as light on a screen. If you like a combination you see, we recommend saving the image and heading to your local hardware store to find paint chips that match. Digital colors will change depending on your phone/tablet/computer screen, so be sure to color match with real swatches. Also, I make up all the color names.

Ok, so what are you goals? Mine is singular and simple: collaborate.

Yep, that's it. COLLABORATE. I'll admit that I normally like working alone—I think most perfectionists/introverts feel this way—but I know for a fact that working with other creatives makes me a better designer. Collaboration not only exposes me to new ideas, audiences, and methods, but it also pushes me out of my comfort zone. Last year, I took a chance and reached out to a few people for help, and much to my surprise they jumped on board immediately. My reaction was, "What? You care about little ol' me and want to work together?! OK!"

As much as we try to do things on our own, we should realize that we're stronger together. Be good to your community and I assure you, it will give back!

Cheers to your best year yet.

XO. Nikki
