WHAT ARE THESE COLOR CODES? The “hex codes” above are provided as a courtesy for those customizing website colors or looking for general color inspiration. They are not based on paint or Pantone chips. Remember that ink on paper will never look the same as light on a screen. If you like a combination you see, we recommend saving the image and heading to your local hardware store to find paint chips that match. Digital colors will change depending on your phone/tablet/computer screen, so be sure to color match with real swatches. Also, I make up all the color names.

Welcome to my new color palette series featuring ARTISTS + MAKERS! Over the next 2 months, I’ll be sharing weekly palettes inspired by the work of creatives I stalk on Instagram. Amazingly enough, every person I contacted jumped on board, so I can’t wait to share all of their beautiful images with you. As an added bonus, the maker posts will double as my Holiday Gift Guide for this year. Woot woot.

First up is Jin Chu-Ferrer, my globe-trotting, pic-snapping idol. Jin is a freelance photographer and travel influencer who has visited more than 60 countries (!!). She has taken some of the most romantic, colorful, breath-taking photos I have ever seen. (Psst. Ok. So you know when you go somewhere, and you WISH you could take a photo that would do that place/scene/moment justice? That’s me. If I could be graced with another creative talent, I would definitely request photography skills.) I mean, look

Anyway, when I saw the top image in Jin’s IG feed, I thought, “I need to bring color palettes back.” So here I am. Admittedly, the pink wall is not as dramatic as the swing, BUT her indigo blue dress against that pink gradation is pretty darn perfect for my color palette comeback!

Jin, thank you for participating in my series and I hope we’ll get to meet in person soon! Until then, I’ll be over on your feed, swooning over the color combos.

Happy Friday!
