a modern, quilt-inspired color palette

bright, modern digital color palette based on a quilt design

Confession :: writing the copy for these color palette posts is the HARDEST part for me. I never know how to begin. Browsing for color inspo is easy because I’m doing it constantly, without even thinking about it. When I see a combination I like, I take a photo, pin it, or make a mental note.

When I stumbled upon this quilt design by Lo and Behold last night, I stopped dead in my tracks. Oooooo-eeeeeee!!! That deep, dark, gray-blue contrasted with rosy beige, warm white, and bright, bright yellow…combined with petal pink, coral, and magenta over a backdrop of orange and café au lait (brown) is next level: bold, unexpected, and downright brilliant! Three cheers for the for the person who came up with this GENIUS palette.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Happy Friday!

P.S. Does reading “Eclectic and Electric” make anyone else feel cross-eyed? It’s like a tongue-twister for your eyes.

Want to see the color palette in another context? Here it is applied to a modern monogram / logo concept I explored for a client a few months back. (I was going for a J + I, but this looked too much like a U to work. If you turn it upside-down, though, it could work as an N!)
