A Beachy-Building-Inspired Color Palette
When I had my first daughter, I was on a mission to expose her to a variety of colors (and occupations) in the hopes of steering her away from all things “pink princess.” I decorated her nursery in beachy neutrals, bought her a stuffed dino, and even dressed her up as an astronaut for Halloween.
Well…guess what her favorite color was by the time she was 2.
Yep! Pink. Everything had to be pink.
When she was 5, however, she decided blue was the absolute best. (Thanks, Elsa!) Sooooo, now that we’re surprising her with a little “room makeover” for her 7th birthday, I’m trying to find a way to add blue to her room without having to toss all of the pink stuff we’ve collected over the years.
It’s tricky using pink and blue in the same color palette, though. To avoid making it look like a nursery for boy-girl twins, I’ve chosen a serene blue with green and gray tones and a warm, slightly peachy, pink. The overall look is light, airy, and feminine, with a coastal / summer vibe. What do you think?
Happy Friday!
