happy july 4th.

I have two exciting things to share with you today. ONE // This little lovely.

Happy July 4th from Akula Kreative // Calligraphy by Kaitlin Parisho #watercolor #usa

Kaitlin Parisho graciously provided the beautiful calligraphy. If you like pretty things, check out her website or follow her on Instagram - I promise it will put a smile on your face.

TWO // Our new client, Qore Performance, has produced a special video to give thanks on our Independence Day. It's amazing and you have to watch it.

We say thank you to every American who has contributed to this greatness: military, athletes, pastors, law enforcement, entrepreneurs, factory workers, equipment operators, miners, visionaries, coaches, nurses, entertainers, teachers, doctors, mothers, fathers and anyone in between who lives everyday in pursuit of the American Dream.

That's a better thank you than I could have written, so...YES. Thank you.

I am blessed for many reasons, but today I celebrate my freedom to live creatively. :)

Happy July 4th, everyone!

a watercolor-inspired color palette // red, tangerine, orange, pink, nude [pinit]

I know I've shared quite a few watercolor-inspired color palettes, but I had to whip something up this morning to celebrate some recent news. After being told our dog Nani (pictured on Who We Are) likely had an untreatable cancerous tumor in her mouth, we received word on Wednesday that her biopsy came back negative. Nani's best friend died not too long ago, only a few weeks after we found cancer in him, so we had been preparing ourselves for the worst case scenario.

I realize this is a personal story, but we are just so GRATEFUL this week! If there's any creature on Earth that lives each day like it's their last, it's a dog.

Happy Friday!

a watercolor-giveaway-inspired color palette // indigo, purple, pink, salmon #ombre [pinit]

Today's color palette comes from May's Mini Facebook Giveaway :: a freshly branded watercolor set. It's a lovely little ombré effect, blending dark indigo into bright salmon pink.

Congrats to Elle, our winner! Happy Friday!

win my favorite watercolor set!

A lot of people have asked what watercolors I use, and it's none other than the somewhat "beginner" set you see here. It's not the fanciest thing around, but I love it. The colors are vibrant and plentiful, it's easy to use, and if you want to mix up new colors you can do it right on the paper. Well, guess what...we're giving away a FREE set! And not just any set...a set that has been re-branded with a lovely new label. (FYI :: this is what I spend Sundays doing. Re-branding things I own. ;) )

The rules are simple. All you have to do is comment on our Facebook post HERE, and you'll get 1 entry - no purchase necessary. If you purchase something from this week's Pop-Up Shop, mention it in your comment and we'll multiply your entry by FIVE. We'll choose a winner by random drawing, then announce it on our Facebook page Friday, May 9th.

Win this from Akula Kreative!
