Google Fonts :: Editorial
Looking to elevate your brand with a refined, editorial edge? I’ve rounded up the best open-source (read: free) Google fonts perfect for building a consistent collection without the hassle (or cost) of purchasing multiple licenses.
What is an editorial style font?
Editorial fonts are all the rage right now, so I thought it might be helpful to explain what, exactly, they are. Inspired by print magazine (and newspaper) typography, the term “editorial” generally refers to serif fonts that range from traditional (think: classic serif fonts like Times and Cormorant Garamond) to transitional (think: high contrast fonts like Arapey or more stylized, tall and narrow serif fonts like Instrument Serif). In a broad sense, they convey sophistication in an educational context. They're a great fit for brands in interiors, fashion, lifestyle, or any industry that values storytelling, design, and a polished visual presence.
