a city-home-inspired color palette

This photo and its nostalgic color palette make me daydream. In my dream, I live in a quaint downtown neighborhood with a fun-colored door and window box filled with spiky green plants. (Hmm, not my first choice but I do love the green.) On Saturdays, I ride an adorable, vintage-inspired, off-white bicycle with a tan leather seat to the farmer's market where I buy fresh flowers and a warm baguette. I even have a dog trotting by my side, off leash and behaving perfectly.

Reality :: I live in a place where residents are currently getting excited about the completion of a highway that will connect us to civilization. (That's a true statement.) My bike is my mom's, from the 80s. It's bright yellow and it's called a Range Rover. (That's my favorite part.) My dog is a rescued pit bull that is scared of strangers and other dogs...so much so that we have to keep a 20-foot buffer around us (which makes us look very anti-social and weird).

WHAT ARE THESE COLOR CODES? The “hex codes” above are provided as a courtesy for those customizing website colors or looking for general color inspiration. They are not based on paint or Pantone chips. Remember that ink on paper will never look the same as light on a screen. If you like a combination you see, we recommend saving the image and heading to your local hardware store to find paint chips that match. Digital colors will change depending on your phone/tablet/computer screen, so be sure to color match with real swatches. Also, I make up all the color names.

Happy Friday!
