a pastel-pumpkin-inspired color palette
Did you know that pumpkins are one of my favorite things to draw? I love the variety of shapes and sizes, the twisty stems, the full spectrum of hues…all of it! The best part is, they’re somewhat symmetrical without being perfect. This means you can make each side roughly the same, and you don’t have to stress about super smooth strokes. If you’ve ever wanted to improve your drawing skills, I highly recommend starting out with pumpkins!
On Wednesday, I shared my pumpkin illustration on Instagram and asked you to vote on your favorite color combo. The soft rainbow hues (left) won by a surprisingly small margin (33% vs. 30% in my stories) to the darker green-grays (right).
Thank you to everyone who shared their input! If you’re interested in a color sheet for the darker green palette, let me know!
Happy Friday!
You can now download a free printable PDF of this color palette that includes values for print (CMYK) and web (HEX, RGB, HSL) - as well as the closest Pantone matches for coated and uncoated stock! It’s everything you need to recreate this color combo on your own.
